VLC HD Remote is an app for using your Android device as remote control for all versions of VLC, including VLC 2.0. The remote control is free to use.

The app also includes a trial for streaming from and to VLC. To our knowledge, it is currently the only app to offer these features for VLC 2.0.

It is simple to use and offers detailed help for setting up VLC. The design has been optimized for high resolution displays for devices running Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), but also runs on older versions of Android.

In addition to the free features of a remote, the app has two additional trial features:

  1. Streaming from VLC to Android devices and
  2. streaming from Android devices to VLC.

These features can be used for three days and can be unlocked permanently by purchasing "VLC HD Remote Unlocker". Please consider a purchase to support future development.

If you find a bug or have a suggestion, you are welcome to write us.

In addition to the features of a remote, the app showcases two additional features:

VLC version
Currently we recommend VLC 1.1.11. We have support for a large portion of all functionality for VLC 2.0, but VLC 2.0 does not seem to be stable when streaming. We hope this will be improved in future versions.
VLC 2.0 requires a new step to set up. Look at the help in the app for more information.

Tested with Samsung Galaxy S4, Asus Nexus 7, ASUS Transformer TF300TG, Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Desire, Samsung Galaxy S, Xperia Mini, Acer Iconia a500.

Have fun with VLC HD Remote.
